The Altdorf Biergarten was founded in 1977 and is located on Main Street in historic Fredericksburg, Texas. It has been under the same management and ownership since 1985. We feature casual dining in a truly unique setting. Our landmark limestone building dates to back 1847, and contains four dining areas. But we are best know for our authentic outdoor biergarten, shaded by large trees, where you may drink with friends or enjoy fabulous outdoor dining at its best.
Come and enjoy a meal with us, either inside or outside, or just come by to refresh with a cool beverage of your choice. We feature, of course, mouth-watering German specialties as well as an outstanding selection of appetizers, Tex-Mex entrees, our famous burgers, cool salads, and a children's menu.

"Although my visit was brief, I will never forget this place. It sits in downtown Fredericksburg, one of the oldest towns in Texas. The building that houses this business is a former church and by the looks of the stonework and the location appears that it is one of the earliest buildings in the town. I did not go into the building, but rather sat outside under the shade of many trees amongst the tables and chairs. The outside tables were all partially made of very old wooden barrels. Everything had an antique German tone to it.
The service was good, the atmosphere was great and the town is worth
the travel that it takes to get there. Stop by if you ever can. Prosit!"
